It's time to get ready for the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, August 21! Here are the answers to all of our frequently asked questions about the Viewing Party at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum:

- What are the event hours on Monday? Our parking lots will open at 6:00 am on Monday, 8/21, and activities will begin at 7:00 am. You will enter the museum property through the main entrance and be asked to show your viewing party tickets. Please note that Museum admission alone will not grant you access to our campus until after 12:00 pm. After showing your tickets, you will receive your viewing glasses and be directed to a parking location.

- What if your parking lots fill up? You can also park at Chemeketa Community College, just down the street from our campus. We will have shuttles running from their parking lot starting at 6:00 am. The last shuttle will be at 5:00 pm.

- What does the $5 viewing party ticket include? Viewing glasses, parking, outdoor activities, and access to the Theater for presentations and a live stream of the eclipse. The ticket does NOT include Museum admission.

- Will there be enough glasses? Yes! We made sure we have enough glasses for everyone who has purchased a ticket.

- Will there be enough bathrooms? Yes! The buildings will be open for people to use the bathrooms, and we will have porta-potties in several locations on campus.

- Can I bring a chair? You can bring chairs or blankets to put out on the grass areas that will be available for viewing.

- Will there be handicap parking available? Yes, there will be handicap parking spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis.

- What is there to do when we get there? We will have food trucks, music, educational activities, guest speakers, and a live-stream of NASA eclipse coverage for the entirety of the eclipse.

- How long will it take to get there? We cannot predict how long your drive will be. Traffic is expected to be VERY heavy on the day of the eclipse, so plan accordingly.

- Can we park overnight? No, we do not have any overnight parking or camping available.

- Will there be food? Yes, the Museum cafes will be open at 7:00 am, and there will be food trucks on site. Guests are welcome bring their own food as well.

- Can we visit the Museum after the eclipse? Absolutely! Museum admission will be discounted all day: $17 for adults, $14 for seniors, and $9 for youth. The Museum will open at 9:00 am. Please note that we will not be running our normal movie schedule: the NASA eclipse livestream will be broadcast in the Theater until early afternoon, and then we will have a free screening of a special movie.

On Monday, the eclipse party begins at 7AM! In addition to hands-on activities and some great food vendors, to celebrate, we will have NASA Solar System Ambassadors on hand to help us learn more about the eclipse. The Museum food and beverage service opens at 7AM. In our Theater, we’ll live stream the eclipse as it races across the US (courtesy of NASA).The location of the Museum—McMinnville, Oregon—is in the path of totality, so we'll all view the eclipse together and afterward you are invited to spend the day with us continuing the celebration. Get here early! Our parking lot opens at 6AM and will fill up quickly. Once our lots are filled you will be directed to offsite parking with shuttle transportation available.
