COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

What guidelines is Evergreen following?
Evergreen will follow the latest guidelines established by the Oregon Health Authority and Yamhill County for summer camp programs.

Summer health and safety protocols include:

  • Proper social distancing in all classroom environments
  • Stable groups of campers and staff to limit interaction
  • Daily health checks of campers and staff
  • Sanitization throughout the day, along with requirements of campers and staff to wash hands multiple times a day
  • Campers and staff required to wear face covers
  • All camps will follow summer protocols from the Oregon Health Authority

Will drop-off and pick-up protocols be changed to support social distancing?
Every day, when the campers arrive, they and their families will walk to a designated outdoor area called “Medical Check.” There will be large, wayfinding signs that help families navigate to this area with appropriate exit and entry points for socially distanced flow. A detailed set of instructions will be sent via email prior to the camp.

Will campers be required to wear a face cover?
Yes, all campers are required to wear face coverings on Evergreen's campus.

How many other campers will my child be in contact with?
Per current regulations, summer camps will be divided into stable groups of 15 campers or less, meaning the same group of campers will be with the same instructor for the week and will not intermingle with any other group during the day.

Will campers be checked daily for cough and fever?
Following the guidance of McMinnville School District, we ask that parents do a daily screening at home prior to sending their camper to the museum. When the camper arrives at Evergreen, staff will use a visual cue card to indicate if a camper feels well or unwell. The camper either points to the well or unwell card or responds verbally. If they feel well, they go to their proper summer camp group, and if they indicate they are unwell, they go to a separate area and are then further assessed for symptoms.

What is being used to sanitize teaching spaces and materials?
All teaching spaces will be sanitized daily with an approved cleaner that aligns with OHA guidelines. Each space will be sanitized on the weekends prior to new campers utilizing the space. Additional cleaning protocols are in place for the entire museum.

How and when will I be notified if someone at Evergreen tests positive for COVID-19?
If a camper shows COVID-19 symptoms, they will be immediately isolated from the group and Evergreen will contact all participants to cancel the class for the remainder of the week for deep cleaning. If a camper or staff at Evergreen tests positive for COVID-19, we will immediately notify all families and follow Yamhill County health department guidance.

Will I need to wear PPE, such as a face cover, to drop off and pick up my child?
Yes, all visitors are required to wear face coverings on Evergreen's campus.

Dear All,
please can I ask you if you still have space for our son 11 yo?
We are moving from Vietnam to Portland half of July and we are looking for a nice camp for him.

Martha Ndegwa

Would a 5th grader going to 6th, almost 12 yo boy, register for the the 3rd to 5th grade camp or 6th to 9th grade camp?
Thank you!
