Colonel Terry Bernhardt

From the early days of Vietnam, through his subsequent service in the Oregon Air National Guard, Colonel Terry Bernhardt always displayed outstanding leadership, patriotism, courage, and loyalty to the organizations he served. Bernhardt received the Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster and Air Medal with 12 oak leaf clusters from the United States Air Force and the Gallantry Cross with Silver Star from the former Republic of Vietnam. Later joining the Oregon Air National Guard, he took command of the 142nd Fighter Interceptor Group in 1989, serving in that position until his retirement in 1996.
