07/01/2026 – A Message from our CEO, Scot Laney
Despite the recent fall-like weather, summer is in full swing here at your museum. Hope to see you all on Saturday, July 11, for the classic import car pop-up museum featuring an intriguing line-up of vehicles you don’t often see together in one place. Watch for our farm tractor pop-up later this fall. As always there is no charge for members to enjoy these events. We will add more pop-up events in the future as well. Do you have a suggestion for a specific pop-up? Please let us know.
Our Skunkworks exhibit is set to grow again with the addition of the P-791 Airship. We have the tail sections on display, and we hope to add the gondola soon. This will be a very technical installation that will occur over a period of several months once we decide where the aircraft can fit, hopefully sometime before the end of next year.
The 3D prints for the F-117 restoration—including the nose and leading edges—are now complete. That restoration will follow the completion of the C-47 restoration which is getting close to moving to the paint stage.
Please make your plans to join us for the 2026 Airshow Watch Party, August 14-16, featuring the United States Navy Blue Angels. Attendance is at no charge to members, and we have added loads of new stuff for this year, including many new activities for kids.
On Thursday, August 13, we have a memorable afternoon and evening planned featuring Museum Board member and three-time Blue Angels Boss Greg Wooldridge. Greg will guide us through the Blue Angels practice show in real time, then join us in the theater for a screening of The Blue Angels (2024). After the film, Greg—who appears in the documentary—will host a Q&A. Member-discounted tickets for this special event will be available, with more details coming soon.
