The Longest Day: Alzheimer's Awareness and Resources

Join us Friday, June 21, for an informational day focused and centered around Alzheimer's disease!

Alzheimer's, the most common cause of dementia, affects more than 5.5 million Americans, according to the HHS. Stop by the Museum and participate in activities surrounding the disease, meet with representatives of local Memory Care Units, and hear presentations about issues regarding Alzheimer's. 

Presentations:

  • Healthy Living for the Brain and Body (11am-12pm):                                                                                                                                                           Join us to learn about the latest research providing insights into how to make lifestyle choices that may help you keep your brain and body healthy as you age, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.
  • 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's (1-2pm):                                                                                                                                                                             Learn the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's disease, hear from people who have the disease, and find out how to recognize the signs in yourself and others.
  • Legal and Financial Planning (3-4pm):                                                                                                                                                                                   The diagnosis of Alzheimer's makes planning for the future more important than ever. Through this interactive two-part program, you will learn about important legal and financial issues, how to put plans in place, and how to access resources near you.
